Election Day

Tomorrow, you will go to the polls. Unless you sent in your absentee ballot already. Jeremy has faithfully gone to the polls in each election in his young life, even if he can't vote for himself yet. He is counting on his mothers, and his grandparents, and his uncles and aunts, and every adult who enjoys the right to vote, to exercise that right, and to do so in a way that is mindful of the effects of our votes today on the lives and livelihoods of the generation that will come of age in twenty years. Most of us alive today have enjoyed a standard of living better than our parents' generation. Economic opportunities are expanding. Civil rights are being realized. Environmental resources are being conserved and managed for sustainability. At the same time, many of the things that we value most about America are at risk under current domestic and foreign policy. On behalf of my son, I hope that our collective decisions tomorrow will be based on what we want for our children's generation in the future. Jeremy asks you to please vote, and to please vote responsibly.

Blessed be.
